Hello! I am Xochitl (só-cheel)

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair, light skin, and blue eyes smiling while sitting indoors. She is wearing a light blue blouse with ruffled sleeves and a small gold necklace with an airplane pendant.

I am a bilingual (English-Spanish) and bicultural therapist, originally from Monterrey, Mexico, and I warmly welcome all people from diverse backgrounds. My journey to the United States, 27 years ago, has given me a personal understanding of how culture and language shape our experiences, and has inspired me to support my clients in a way that honors their unique identity and story.

Besides being a therapist, I am also a mom, a stepmom, a wife, a mother in-law and a young grandmother to a beautiful two-year-old girl. I have experienced all the ups and downs of parenting, from raising little ones, to the ever-evolving challenges of raising teenagers, to now supporting young adult children and adjusting to an empty nest. These life roles keep me grounded and help me connect with clients on a real, human level.

My Journey

My personal journey through major life transitions and loss has shaped me into a deeply compassionate and empathetic person both in life and in my work as a therapist. These experiences inspired me to create Peace by Piece Therapy as a safe and supportive space where I can walk alongside others as they navigate life’s challenges and mental health struggles.

Alongside my personal journey, I bring 14 years of experience in the education field to my practice. I have worked as a teacher, school counselor, and school-based therapist, supporting children, teens, parents, and teachers.

As a lifelong and former professional dancer, I bring a strong understanding of creative expression and mind-body connection to my therapy, using body awareness and creativity as tools for self-discovery, emotional regulation, and healing.

If any part of my story resonates with you and you believe I am a good fit for you, I would be honored to walk alongside you in your journey.
